nd after a loved one dies grapple with incessantly. While we each hold individual responsibility towards taking care of ourselves and our loved ones, the government also has a major role to play. The stigma associated with suicide is still very alive with a lack of understanding of the drivers to suicide. With more than 700,000 people dying from suicide every year and majority of them being the youth from middle-income countries like ours, it is high time the public health professionals stepped up to prevent suicide from happening by putting forth the appropriate interventions.
